BARRINGTON, Ill. (May 17)—CTI Industries Corp. recorded a loss of $133,269 in the first quarter ended March 31 compared to net income of $176,210 in the first period of 2000. Sales slid 15 percent to $6.1 million from $7.2 million. The maker of latex balloons, mylar balloons, novelty items and printed and laminated films said the drop reflects a decline in mylar balloon sales. But revenues for both specialty films and latex balloons were up, it said.
