VENTURA, Calif. (May 10)—Rhodia Silicones is adding a 3,000-sq.-ft. clean room to expand its silicone rubber capabilities. The business unit of Cranbury, N.J.-based Rhodia Silicones North America also has increased its manufacturing capacity during the last year without expanding its plant by implementing world-class manufacturing techniques from its parent company, Paris-headquartered Rhodia Inc. "We expect the business to grow 40 percent this year," said R. Alastair Winn, business director of Rhodia Silicones. The new clean room should give the firm increased production of its core business, health care products, he said.
