FRANKLIN, Wis. (May 10)—Vesta Inc. has purchased liquid silicone injection molder K-Sil Inc., based in Portage, Wis., for an undisclosed amount and plans to expand its Franklin plant almost twofold. The acquisition gives silicone rubber molder and product maker Vesta more technology, diversity, products, knowledge, manufacturing space and the expertise of K-Sil President Gene Kyburz, who will become general manager of the Portage operation, said Vesta President Glenn R. Hubbard. Vesta will break ground on its expansion in July, he said. The firm's 32,500-sq.-ft. plant will grow to about 63,000 square feet. "Our growing capacity forced us to get bigger," he said. "We're overcrowded right now. We have three shifts, and there's very little space in the aisles."
