MONTREAL (May 3)—Tire recycler Tirex Corp. has formed a joint venture with new Montreal-based firm Xerus Inc. to use Tirex's Rutex crumb rubber to manufacture rubber products. Xerus is a collaboration between Michel DeBlois, founder of Quebec City-based MD Technologies and an award-winning expert in rubber and plastics research, and Andre Valois, a designer, developer and marketer of rubber and plastics products. Tirex President John L. Threshie Jr. said in a press release the joint venture "is another step in the vertical integration of the company's plan for long-term growth and security."
