ERIE, Pa. (May 1)—Rubber and plastics equipment maker Skinner Engine Co. filed a voluntary petition April 16 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Erie-based Skinner made the filing to "facilitate a financial restructuring, address existing asbestos litigation and assist the company in competing more effectively in the future," according to the firm. Skinner has secured additional working capital funds from its lender and foresees no service changes during the restructuring, the company said.
