ELGIN, Ill. (April 30)—Chicago Rawhide's Aerospace Business Unit has opened access to an in-house test lab that its customers' design engineers can use to assess the performance of Rawhide's heavy-duty elastomer/metal components, such as engine mounts, bumper guards and flex seals. Cutting-edge lab equipment was developed for product quality purposes and undergoes constant refinement, according to Rawhide. In addition to quality enhancement, the company said, lab benefits include extending existing product specifications and reducing multi-component assemblies to a single-unit part to alleviate, among other things, the need for lubrication.
