WASHINGTON (Apirl 12)—A standards organization and the Rubber Manufacturers Association have developed a safety standard for mill and calender operators. Developed with the American National Standards Institute, the standard updates one ANSI withdrew more than 20 years ago because no action had been taken on it for 10 years, the RMA said. Although withdrawn, the standard was followed by the rubber industry, and the RMA began to revise, update and improve it in 1993. Copies of the standard can be purchased from the RMA by calling Call Kim Weber at 202-682-4835.
