TOLEDO, Ohio (March 30)—Dana Corp.´s Echlin Inc. subsidiary sold its Mr. Gasket Inc. high performance components business to Performance Products Industries L.L.C. The divestiture will translate to an after-tax loss of approximately $13 million in the first quarter of 2001 for Dana. Prior to the sale, Dana assimilated the secondary, cellulose fiber or paper gasket production operations of Mr. Gasket into its Victor Reinz unit, according to Bill Johnson, director of aftermarket and international for the Victor Reinz unit.
