STOCKHOLM, Sweden (March 9)—SKF Group will supply seals and bearings for Ford Motor Co.´s new Mondeo model in a contract worth more than $93.2 million over the life of the vehicle, the manufacturer said. Nearly all of the major mechanical systems on the car are equipped with SKF´s bearings or seals or both. All four corners are fitted with SKF hub bearing units, with the front corner incorporating magnetized encoders within the seal assembly, and the steering assembly and power-assisted steering pump include seals. The 2.5-liter V6 engine also carries front and rear crank seals and camshaft seals from SKF subsidiary Chicao Rawhide.
