AKRON (Feb. 26)—Richard S. "Dick" Walker, onetime executive editor for Rubber & Plastics News, died Feb. 22 at the age of 76. Walker joined RPN in 1976, and was responsible for the technical notebook and technical stories in the publication, produced a column and for a number of years and was in charge of the Rubbicana rubber industry directory. He left the company in 1981. He came to RPN from "Rubber World" magazine, where he held positions as vice president, editorial director technical editor and general manager, book division. During a long career in the rubber industry Walker worked for Canfield Co. in Bridgeport, Conn., Goodyear in Akron, Thiokol Chemical Division and R.T. Vanderbilt Co. Inc.
