Two grades of cellular silicones from Rogers Corp. suitable for use in certain health care applications have received USP Class VI approval. The Class VI listing qualifies the elastomers, which include Bisco-brand MC-600 and MC-300 cellular silicones, for use in uncompromised skin contact applications such as orthopedic cushioning, special care bedding/cushioning and specialty medical devices, Rogers said. Available in soft and medium firmness grades, Bisco Class VI Cellular Silicones will not stain or corrode other materials or support bacterial growth. The materials return to their original state after prolonged compression, providing long-lasting patient comfort, the firm said. For more information, call 800-237-2068; fax 847-640-3838; or e-mail [email protected]
