AKRON (Feb. 12)—Myers Industries has announced risen net sales and fallen earnings for the fourth quarter and year-end 2000. For the three-month period ended Dec. 31, 2000, net sales stood at $171 million, up 3 percent from $166.6 million in 1999, while earnings for the period were $4.5 million, or 21 cents per share, compared to $9.8 million, or 44 cents per share, last year. For the year ended Dec. 31, sales were a record $652.7 million, up 12 percent from last year´s $590.8 million, the company said. Net earnings for the year fell 23 percent to $24 million, or $1.11 per share, this year from 1999´s $31.2 million, or $1.41 per share.
