TALLMADGE, Ohio (Feb. 12)—Latex and plastisol producer Chemionics Corp. has acquired the natural and synthetic latex compounding business of General Latex and Chemical Corp. General Latex will continue to supply its customers from its Ashland, Ohio, plant for the next 30-60 days while the transition to Chemionic´s facility takes place, Chemionics said. Compound manufacturing during the time will be overseen by Chemionics management and technical staff. Chemionics, based in Tallmadge, did not disclose the terms of the deal. The firm´s natural and synthetic latex compounds and PVC plastisols are used by the medical, industrial, balloon, automotive and adhesives industries.
