MIDLAND, Mich. (Feb. 8)—Following clearance by the Federal Trade Commission, Dow Chemical Co. has completed its $7.3 billion purchase of Union Carbide Corp., creating the second largest chemical company in the U.S. Among its holdings are metallocene technology-based ethylene-propylene elastomer plants.
