LUMBER CITY, Ga. (Feb. 1)—Amercord Inc. and Aceros Camesa S.A. de C.V. have agreed to create a Mexico-based joint venture company to make steel reinforcement products used in radial tires. Steelcord and beadwire made by Mexicord, the new venture based in Cuantitlan, will be marketed in Mexico, the U.S., Central and South America, Amercord said. Amercord, based in Lumber City, is a major producer of steelcord and beadwire. Its partner is a division of Grupo Industrial Camesa, and makes cables, ropes and other wire products at plants in Mexico, Texas and Peru.
