LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Jan. 25)—Tenneco Automotive said it expects its earnings for 2000 to be lower than consensus analyst estimates because of North American vehicle production cutbacks and continued weakness in the global aftermarket. The producer of ride control and exhaust products expects full-year earnings before taxes to be between $334 million and $338 million. Tenneco has implemented strict cost control measures and is accelerating other aggressive long-term cost reduction actions, Chairman and CEO Mark P. Frissora said in a prepared statement.
