AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Jan. 24)—Huntsman Polyurethanes will increase the prices of extrusion and injection molding grades of thermoplastic polyurethanes by 5 percent effective Feb. 15. The hikes are necessary to meet rising production costs and maintain a high level of customer service and technical support, according to Steve Oujiri, commercial business manager for the company´s North America Region. He added that the firm is investing heavily in new TPU capacity and technology. The Auburn Hills-based business unit of Huntsman Corp. became the fourth-largest global thermoplastic polyurethane producer in 2000 when it bought Rohm and Hess Co.´s Morton worldwide TPU business.
