AKRON (Jan. 12)—Phil E. Papiska, senior vice president at Intertex World Resources Ltd. and a 40-year veteran of the rubber industry, died Jan. 10 at age 63. He suffered a heart attack while on a duck hunting trip with clients. Papiska was one of the founders of the rubber broker and masterbatch-producing division of Trintex Inc. in 1990, and was involved in all aspects of the business, including buying rubber and handling his specialty, carbon black. He joined Trintex after working for a number of years with H. Muehlstein Co., and also had been employed at Continental Carbon, Uniroyal and Goodyear, where he began his career. Papiska was well-known in the rubber industry, and had been active on ACS Rubber Division committees.
