PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Jan. 11)—The ACS Rubber Division has decided to add five, rather than two, support managers as part of the first major restructuring in its history. At the division´s planning session in Providence for its spring meeting, Chairman Rudy School, R.T. Vanderbilt Co. Inc., said the organization decided having an executive director, two managers and two administrative assistants would create too many layers of management. Instead, besides newly appoint executive director Edward Miller, the division will hire a manager to coordinate educational activities, another to handle exhibitions and selection of meeting sites, a third to work with hotels and convention centers and a fourth to work with systems and membership. A fifth manager eventually will be added to manage finances, School said. He also said the division remains hopeful it will have an agreement to lease space an the University of Akron campus by a self-imposed Feb. 1 deadline.
