LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (Jan. 8)—Air Products and Chemical Inc. will increase the price for ortho-toluenediamine sold globally by 8 cents per pound. The product is used in a number of applications, including production of polyurethane polyols, corrosion inhibitors, specialty antioxidants and dye intermediates, with new applications in coatings, pigments and pharmaceutical intermediaries having been recently developed, Air Products said. The company cited rising raw material and energy prices and additional costs to meet demand as factors in the price hike.
