NOKIA, Finland (Dec. 27)—Nokian Tyres P.L.C.´s tire sales network has reported a sharp decline in sales of winter tires due to mild weather in the Nordic countries. The group´s year 2000 profits consequently will be significantly lower than previously estimated, according to a Nokian statement. Nokian had predicted sales growth for 2000 of more than 20 percent, although profits were estimated at the end of the third quarter to be slightly below those of 1999.
