MIDLAND, Mich. (Dec. 19)—Dow Chemical Co. will implement limited freight policy changes Jan. 1 to offset higher carrier costs caused by fuel surcharges. The freight application policy will incorporate carrier fuel surcharges into freight charges that appear on some Dow invoices. Most customers will not be affected, the company said, but those orders with transportation terms involving freight charges (prepaid and add) will see changes. The amount of the surcharge from Dow will be reviewed and modified as necessary. In addition, Dow´s Customer Pick-Up Allowance schedule will be adjusted to reflect higher fuel costs.
