RED BANK, N.J. (Dec. 13)—Pilot Chemical Co. will raise prices on its line of surfactants effective Jan. 15, the firm said. Prices of Calsoft LAS-99 linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid and Calsoft F-90 flake will increase 2 cents per pound, while other Calsoft and Calimulse sulfonates will rise between 0.75 cents and 2 cents per pound depending on activity level. All Calamide amides will increase 2 cents per pound and Calfax diphenyl oxide disulfonates will increase 5 cents per pound. Pilot cited higher feedstock, energy, transportation and other costs as precipitating the price hikes.
