HULL, England (Dec. 8)—Omya U.K. has started construction of a new facility at its Humberside site in Hull to manufacture its Multisperse elastomer predispersions. By April 2001, the Hull facility will take over all production from Omya´s current base at Cross Keys, South Wales, and enable the firm to focus all its rubber chemicals activities on one site, said an Omya spokeswoman. Omya also manufactures calcium oxides for the elastomer compounds market, and distributes a range of rubber accelerators from General Quimica and sulphur from RAG.
