NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 4)—Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. will raise prices Jan. 1 on replacement market passenger and light truck tires, joining a growing list of manufacturers hiking tire prices. Bridgestone/Firestone did not disclose details, but said dealers will be furnished with information on specific increases for each product line. Goodyear, Michelin North America Inc. and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. previously announced increases effective Dec. 1. Continental General Tire Inc. said it expects to boost prices Jan. 1. All have cited a need to recover the increased cost of petroleum-based production materials.
