NEW YORK—A U.S. subsidiary of French insurance firm Axa S.A. has obtained large interests in Goodyear, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and B.F. Goodrich Co. New York-based Axa Financial Inc., through its Alliance Capital Management L.P. subsidiary, picked up the stock by acquiring the assets and liabilities of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Inc., a major stockholder in the three companies.
