GREENVILLE, S.C. (Nov. 17)—JPS Industries Inc. has exited the textile business with the completion of a transaction to sell the assets of its Apparel Division to JPSA Acquisition Corp. for about $27 million. The sale includes the firm´s apparel manufacturing facilities in South Boston, Va.; Greenville; and Laurens, S.C., along with sales offices in New York and Los Angeles. The deal does not include the company´s elastomers or glass divisions. Greenville-based JPS Industries´ plan is focus on becoming a diversified manufacturer and marketer of specialty engineered products with plants in Slater, S.C.; Westfield, N.C.; and Easthampton, Mass.
