LEAMINGTON, Ontario (Nov. 8)—Elring Klinger A.G. has purchased Versatech Sealing Systems Inc., giving it a North American foothold in the original equipment cam cover and engine gasket markets. The Canadian molder had been under creditor protection since May 5. Based 50 miles from Detroit, the newly named Elring Klinger Sealing Systems Inc. manufactures gaskets, sealing systems and engine case modules made primarily of elastomers and plastic for supply to the North American automotive original equipment market. Its primary customers are General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Saturn Corp. The company employs 192 at a 70,000-sq.-ft. plant in Leamington and expects to post sales of $21.9 million this year.
