SLOCOMB, Ala. (Nov. 7)—Alatech Healthcare Products L.L.C. will expand production and hire between 40 and 50 additional workers following the award of a contract by the U.S. Agency for International Development to produce 50 million condoms in the next year. The contraceptives will be shipped to South Africa, which ordered the condoms through the USAID, Alatech President Robert J. Martin said. The additional employees will give Alatech a work force of about 75. The contract runs through October 2001.
