FRANKFURT, Germany (Nov. 7)—German-made rubber and plastics machinery showed strong export growth in the first half. The Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association within the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association said January to June deliveries abroad grew 15.1-percent to $1.17 billion compared with last year´s figures. The U.S. remains the largest individual market, with half-year deliveries of $20.9 million, more than double the amount of France, which is ranked second. Central and Eastern European markets grew 30 percent, led by the Czech Republic and Poland, followed by Russia and Hungary. Asian deliveries to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan showed significant increase, the organization said, and India is showing signs of a turnaround after several years of investment backlog.
