CONSETT, England (Nov. 7)—Thomas Swan & Co. said it has purchased the business of resorcinol and stearic acid maker Emerald Chemical (Manufacturing) Ltd. of Burton-on-Trent, England. Emerald makes the Anchor 1200 series of blends used in compounded direct bonding systems for rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-textiles adhesion. It also makes aqueous dispersions used in the latex and other industries. Production will be moved from Burton-on-Trent to Swann´s Consett site later this year.
