NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 6)—The number of tires replaced in Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.´s recall of Firestone ATX and Wilderness AT tires now stands at more than 4.8 million, according to a company spokesman. The tire maker began recalling the 6.5 million tires, most of them original equipment on Ford Explorers, on Aug. 9, and CEO John Lampe has vowed to complete the recall by the end of this month.
