MEXICO CITY (Nov. 1)—Mexican attorneys suing Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. for 32 deaths allegedly caused by Firestone tire failures said they are adding General Motors Corp. vehicles to the lawsuits. Originally the suits involved only Firestone tires on Ford Explorers, but an attorney for Monterrey, Mexico-based International Legal Services said accidents involving Firestone tires on GM Suburbans and Silverados also would be included in the litigation. "Firestone and General Motors have a long history of outstanding performance in Mexico," Bridgestone/Firestone said in a prepared statement. "We disagree that there is a tire design problem." GM officials could not be reached for comment.
