LAS VEGAS (Nov. 1)—Bridgestone Corp. chairman Yoichiro Kaizaki and Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. CEO John Lampe both reassured dealers that the company will do everything in its power to rebuild the Firestone brand. Kaizaki, Lampe and other top Bridgestone/Firestone officials addressed about 4,000 dealers at the Firestone brand Consumer Dealers Meeting in Las Vegas. "Your presence here will make me work even harder to rebuild the Firestone name," Kaizaki said. Plans to help rebuild consumer confidence include enhanced warranty programs and an advertising campaign that will first focus on tire maintenance and early next year will feature an as yet unsigned celebrity endorser.
