AKRON—Goodyear Chemical has named three employees to new positions within the company.
Jonathan Rich is director of chemical research and development. He replaces Joel Muse, who recently retired.
Rich previously was technical director at GE Bayer Silicones in Erkrath, Germany. He joined General Electric Corporate Research and Development in Schenectady, N.Y., in 1982 and held several management positions.
Karen Burke, plant manager at Goodyear´s Beaumont, Texas, specialty polymer facility, is director of marketing and sales. Burke joined the company in 1984 and has served in a number of production, buying and project-planning capacities, including project coordinator for the Beaumont site´s construction.
Les Carnahan, manager of the company´s Houston synthetic rubber plant, is director of product supply. With the firm since 1973, Carnahan has served as Goodyear´s global business manager for tire chemicals as well as plant manager of its Niagara Falls, N.Y., facility.
