SHIRLEY, Ma. (Oct. 20)—Thermoplastics Rubber Systems Inc. has opened the doors of its Shirley manufacturing site and sales and business offices as the latest full-line maker of thermosplastic elastomers, the company announced. TRS is the brainchild of Jonas Angus, president, and Paul R. Brunelle, vice president, and offers its Nex-brand series of TPEs as a replacement for traditional thermoset rubber such as EPDM, polychloroprene, NBR and PVC in applications from automotive to medical. Its initial product line will include NexPrene fully vulcanized EPDM/PP TPV, the firm said.
