WOLVERHAMPTON, England (Oct. 19)—Goodyear Great Britain Ltd. is considering cutting 540 jobs at its Wolverhampton plant, the company said in a statement issued Oct. 18 to its 3,200-member work force. The plan is one of a number of options being forwarded by management to trade unions in negotiations over the future of the site, a company spokeswoman said. The firm did not want to disclose the other options because it could jeopardize the negotiations, she said.
