CLEVELAND (Oct. 18)—BFGoodrich Performance Materials will discontinue the production of Cure-rite MBTS rubber vulcanization accelerator. Production of the material at BFGoodrich´s Henry, Ill., plant will cease Dec. 31, 2000, or sooner, depending on market conditions, the company said. BFGoodrich cited deteriorating profit margins caused by low prices and over-capacity in the rubber chemicals industry as the "main contributors" to the decision.
