TRELLEBORG, Sweden (Oct. 12)—Trelleborg A.B.´s automotive division plans to to sell two plants under its Horda rubber components business unit to a Swedish investment firm. The sale is part of a reorganization by Trelleborg Automotive, which has owned the units since Trelleborg´s 1996 acquisition of the Horda group. Trelleborg will sell plants in Horda and Ohs, Sweden, to Vetterledens Invest A.B., for an undisclosed sum. The plants in southern Sweden together employ 190 and have annual sales of $17 million, mainly from rubber components, crankcase ventilation equipment and rubber hose. These units "no longer represent a core area of business within Trelleborg Automotive," Trelleborg said. This is "as an ideal opportunity to sell production units to an owner who will assume industry responsibility for, and offer continued employment to, the units´ personnel," the comapny said.
