YARDLEY, Pa. (Oct. 6)—William M. Connell III, a retired executive from Rhein Chemie Corp., died Sept. 27 after a battle with leukemia. He was 72. Connell started his career at Trancoa Chemical Corp. and the silicone products division of General Electric Corp. before joining Wyrough & Loser Inc. in 1963. He worked 24 years at Wyrough & Loser and was its executive vice president before the company was acquired by Rhein Chemie in 1987. Connell retired from Rhein Chemie on Jan. 1, 1977, as national accounts manager. He was active in the American Chemical Society, its Rubber and Chemical Marketing and Economics divisions and many rubber subdivisions.
