DEARBORN, Mich. (Oct. 5)—Visteon Corp. and Japan-based Nichirin Co. Ltd. have formed a joint venture to manufacture air conditioning hoses for use in Visteon´s hose coupling process at its Novy Jicin, Czech Republic, plant. The hoses will be produced from nearby Rychvald, beginning in late 2001, Visteon said in a written release. In a related move, Visteon said it will acquire a 10-percent stake in Nichirin in the near future "as part of a strategy for global leadership within the automotive hose market."
