MAUMEE, Ohio (Oct. 5)—Eaton Aeroquip has finalized the purchase of Australian-based Frederick Duffield Pty. Ltd. and its overseas operations in Singapore, South Africa and New Zealand. Terms of the cash transaction were not disclosed. Duffield´s production of metal hydraulic fittings and adapters will support Aeroquip´s fluid connector applications and customers primarily in the industrial and mining sectors, Eaton said. Aeroquip has operated in Australia from plants in Melbourne and Sydney since 1984. The purchase establishes a strong market position for Eaton Aeroquip while providing considerable opportunity for its growth in the Asia-Pacific region, Jacob T. Hooks, vice president and general manager of Aeroquip´s Industrial Division, said in a written statement.
