DETROIT (Oct. 5)—The automotive exchange Covisint has begun live auctions over the site. ArvinMeritor Inc., a supplier of corner modules, exhaust systems and vehicle roof modules, began purchasing injection-molded plastic components over the site Oct. 3, a Covisint spokesman confirmed. Covisint will continue testing its request for bids and procurement services with the group of suppliers already committed to use the exchange and original equipment manufacturer customers over the next few weeks, he said. Within three or four weeks, the site´s collaborative product design capabilities also will be tested before Covisint opens the site to other suppliers early next year.
