CLEVELAND (Sept 12)—A study by the Cleveland-based Freedonia Group predicts U.S. pressure-sensitive adhesive tape shipments to expand at an annual pace exceeding 5 percent, reaching $6.6 billion in 2004. Technilogical innovations and enhancements in backing materials and adhesives will allow pressure sensitive tapes to further supplant competitive joining and bonding systems in applications, the study said. A shift in the product mix toward value-added specialty and technical tapes for industrial applications also is expected to support value gains. For information, or to order the study, ``Pressure Sensitive Tapes,´´ at a cost of $3700, call the Freedonia Group at 440-684-9600.
