SARNIA, Ontario (Sept. 8)—Bayer Corp. has completed construction of its new Sarnia Butyl II plant and has begun shipments to customers, the firm announced. The Butyl II expansion, a $100 million investment which Bayer called "a commitment to the rubber business," is the company´s response to rising demand from the butyl markets, the largest being the tire industry, Bayer said. To reflect its commitment to the market, the Pittsburgh-based firm has added the Bayer brand name to its line of butyl products.
