AKRON (Sept. 7)—Theophilus Karnaghan Seiberling, or "T.K.," died Sept. 2 in Akron at the age of 100. Seiberling was born April 1, 1900, to C.W. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear. Seiberling helped run the Akron-based tire maker along with Seiberling Rubber, the family business. He headed Seiberling´s shoe department and then chose early retirement at the age of 62. After retiring he returned to inventing and developed the tire curing process known as electron irradiation, which allows curing to occur while a tire is being built.
