BEDFORD, Va. (Aug. 31)—A former temporary replacement worker hired during the strike at Rubatex Corp.´s Bedford foam rubber facility has been jailed and fined for damage he caused at the plant in February. Fritz K. Huether, 39, will spend 90 days in jail and pay a $5,000 fine as a result of his Aug. 22 sentencing in Bedford County Circuit Court. He pleaded no contest June 8 to a charge of felony property damage alleging he caused a fire that caused more than $20,000 in damage at the plant Feb. 24. He was fired later that day and arrested Feb. 25.
