JET Lasersysteme to set up U.S. operation

HUCKELHOVEN, Germany (Aug. 24)—JET Lasersysteme GmbH said it will set up a sales and field service operation in Plymouth, Mich. The supplier of laser cleaning equipment for tire molds will open an office and spare part stocking area in the Center for Laser Technology in Plymouth. The company said spare part handling will being immediately, and the office will be staffed early next year. The expansion will better serve JET customers in the tire and automotive industries, the firm said. JET said it will kick off the expansion of its U.S. business by exhibiting at the International Tire Exhibition and Conference in Akron Sept. 12-14.
