HILLSDALE, Mich. (Aug. 24)—Workers at five Eagle-Picher Automotive Hillsdale division sites in Michigan Aug. 17 voted for United Auto Worker representation, culminating a 10-year drive by the union at the sites. Of about 700 employees, 340 voted in favor of UAW representation and 291 against it. Eagle-Picher Automotive operates ten sites in the U.S. and additional operations in Mexico and England, supplying most global auto makers and Tier 1 automotive suppliers with engine, transmission, axle/driveline and chassis/suspension system components.
