GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 22)—Michelin North America Inc.´s BFGoodrich, Uniroyal and Michelin brand tires have been approved by Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. as replacements for tires affected by the Firestone recall. The company boosted production 250 percent in tire sizes that match the recalled tires in order to meet demand, it said. Consumers can select replacements from an authorized tire retailer and Bridgestone/Firestone will reimburse up to $100 per tire, including mounting and balancing charges and taxes. Michelin has a dealership network of about 10,000 throughout the U.S.
